Colorado unit 41,42,421

Some friends and I are thinking about putting in in Colorado for units 41,42, and 421. Has anyone hunted this area lately. I dont want to know anyones secret spots, just wondering about the deer poplulation and if there are many nice bucks around? Thanks, Zach

I live in 41. It's been real tough to find good deer in 41 the last few years. I haven't hunted 42 or 421 so I won't add commentary on those units. 41 is very much a weather dependant unit, you'll need snow to do well in it. There are better units to choose from.

i've hunted 42 and 421 for the last two years during the muzzleloader hunt. we see deer every day but not alot of them, u gotta work real hard to find the big ones. last year i got a 23 inch 3x4 and my hunting partner came home empty handed after a failed attempt at a big bruiser. this year i missed a shot at a 180 class buck(most frustrated ive ever been) and on the last day got a small 3 pt. my hunting partner scored on a 27 inch 4 pt. so if ur willing to hunt ur ass off it is possible to score on a big buck but in general it's a real fun hunt.
