Well my dad has had just about the best year you could ask for, he killed a 5x4 general season Utah buck which was his biggest buck he had ever killed. But on October 30 we headed out to Colorado for the 3rd season rifle hunt. On opening morning my dad missed what he said was the biggest deer he had ever saw with i believe because he usually doesn't miss and he came back to camp disappoint and in disbelief about the buck. But with as many buck as there was in the area we know we would have another shoot at a nice buck. So Monday night me, my brother, and my cousin headed out to look around for a buck and we saw a couple nice bucks then we come across two really nice bucks. One was a 5x4 and the other was a 27 inch 4x4. So we radioed my dad and uncle and talk them about the bucks so we went back to camp and headed to bed for a long restless night. We headed out the next morning to look for the bucks. When we got to where we had last seen the bucks there was a bunch of deer bedded and with light coming we were able to spot out the big 5x4 the one my dad wanted to take. The 4x4 wasn't with them anymore just two smaller bucks and a bunch of does. Well my dad settled in for a shot and we watched the action through are spotting scopes. Shot one missed, shot two missed, every one stops. what the hell haha, shot three thud, hit, deer still running but hit, shot four miss. Everyone is thing what the hell haha, dad panics "grab the bullets he says, hurry hurry" well my dad left the bullets at camp. Not a smart move lol. So he panics some more, but me and my uncle watch as the deer does the wobbles for a good minute. That's my favorite thing to watch. so we watched the deer tip over dead. And this is what we walked up to.

Look at those deep forks. We scored the buck at 172 inches an awesome buck.

This buck was killed by a guy in my uncles group. He is a stud, the biggest four point ever. He is 30.5 wide and scores 195, huge.
This is my dad's general season utah buck.

Well that is the story of my dad's awesome year. This year my dad killed his two biggest bucks ever. Two awesome 5x4, awesome awesome year. Little to say i think the taxidery bill might be a little big this year. It was a sweet year i was able to be there for both hunts and watch both bucks go down, one of the coolest hunts ever. The story about the Utah 5x4 title is 2009 success! Father & Daughter. My little sister was able to connect on an awesome first buck and made an excellent shot, needless to say i was out done by my little sister.
