So its 2011 and my daughters first year to hunt here in utah. She has hunted hard all year putting several miles on her little hiking boots throughout the Archery, Muzzleloader and now the Rifle hunt and not once did she ever loose spirit. We got on some big bucks on the archery but just couldn't quite close the deal. The muzzleloader showed us lots of does but only one buck that came through way to fast to do anything with. The opening day of the rifle hunt was slow with lots of does but no bucks. Sunday morning we put on our lucky pants and headed out way before day light yet again. After finding some bucks Sunday morning we re-grouped and Sunday evening headed up to where we figured would be the spot and luck was on her side. After looking over ton's of does and fawns we spotted this buck coming out of the scrub with some does. There was only One pine to block our approach to shorten the distance between us and the buck. We got to the pine and pushed the button on the rangefinder and 230YD came up. She has been shooting her moms 243 win this year and is very good and confident out to 300 yards. So we set her up on the tripod and she settled her crosshairs on the buck, Bang! The buck dropped in his tracks. I couldn't be more proud of her for keeping composure and we both are still on top of the world. I want to thank my daughter for paying attention and following through with what we started. What a way to start out with a first tag filled and with a buck like this and giving Grandpa the Liver. This is why its the Best Buck Ever!!! She still has a late season cow tag this year as well Wahoooo. Hopefully the rest of you dad's and moms out there get to feel the feeling I am. Good luck to all. A special Thanks To Byron, Hank and Curtis for all the help getting him out and being so good to Me and My Family.
