How goes it,
My name is Brad, and I'm a 26 year old archery hunter from Price-Utah...earlier this past week on Monday I received the great news (CC hit) that I've drawn a Book Cliffs archery tag and have been in an absolute frenzy ever since trying to dig up as much info as I can, in the process I found a few hunting videos on YouTube but nothing really outside of that. I was hoping that any of you with previous experience in that particular area might be willing to offer any advice & opinions you can, in regards to what I need to do as a hunter to place myself in a position to harvest a decent buck like so many have out of there...even though I live relatively close to the unit I have never once set foot in there and have absolutely idea where to even start scouting for bucks, anything you could offer would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks for your time, looking forward to haring back from you soon!

Its pretty easy to find deer on the book cliffs specially on the archery hunt. Go to the top and start there. Should have plenty of deer too look over

From Price go the Greenriver, then Westwater and up Hay Canyon and once you hit the Divide Road go east or west and should see deer in either direction during the bow hunt. Good luck it should be a fun hunt. Head out towards the end of July and August when the horn growth is good and you'll have a good idea whats around.

What Camper_A1 said. You don't need any more advice than that. Take a drive and look around, they are pretty much all back on the summer range right now. I saw several bucks with potential after driving east towards the radio towers on the divide last week.

There is no such thing as a sure thing in trophy mule deer hunting.

+ 1 on all that has been said. my brother and i spent 3 weeks straight last year. you will see 30+ bucks a day. Some nice ones are there, but sneeking and have it all work out can be a challenge. We chased some great bucks, but in the end settled for a couple 150+ bucks. There are bucks in every canyon. just get off the main road as much as possible. good luck! post up pictures when you get one. layne
