So who is not going out???? I will not be hunting deer for the first time since I was 14. I am ok with that though. It is my own fault. I am a dedicated hunter and have already reached my harvest limit. So those elk I saw on the front this morning better hide tomorrow, cause I will be after them!

I am also staying home. I'll be looking forward to hearing how my buddys do when they return.

Good luck to all.

I just sent my wife and 4 kids out to the Book Cliffs with my inlaws with tags and I am sitting home alone. I have to work Sat and Sun and it is killing me to not be out there with them!

There are 4 tags in the family this year and I sure hope they don't have them all killed before Monday. I can't wait to get out there.

Dax

There is no such thing as a sure thing in trophy mule deer hunting.

My brother and sister in law are out right now while I'm stuck working but I will be out tonight.

Hey Dax,

Did you draw your usual Colorado tag this year? We will be there for the 3rd season. Be nice to run into you in person. Always thankful for the help you give.

Did anyone get shot? There are more hunters than deer.

Utah rifle hunt... never again for me. I like to think that I'm past that, Archery or smoke stick is the only way for a true blue hunter. If you can't get yourself within archery range (50 or less yards), of a deer you don't deserve have a tag. (of course there are exceptions, like handicaps and such)

I guess I've read the dumbest post on this site this year...

No tag for me. I'd rather be out on the rifle than sitting here reading
dumb posts....

To each their own...some guys are die hard stick n string, others powder, and some rifle. I could care less how someone else likes to hunt, but to say that you have to be within 50 yards of an animal to deserve a tag is quite a stretch.

Sometimes archery guys take the holier than thou approach, but it doesnt go anywhere and never will. I have hunted all approaches and prefer rifle. For me it just makes sense, if you see a nice animal why not have in hand the best most effective way to get it.

Come on, dont deserve a tag? Thats a stretch. I get more and bettrer opportunities with my bow every year than I do with my rifle. I am in no way saying its easier but each hunt brings its own challanges. Thats why I love the dedicated program-

+5 and let me just also add blow me holly. We can't all be bada$$ legends such as yourself.
