LAST EDITED ON Nov-08-12 AT 08:35PM (MST)[p]The first time I saw this buck at over a mile away. He really had the "WOW" factor but then after seeing him closer, I wasn't sure what to think. I do know he's a great general season buck. I was guessing him to be in the mid to upper 170s gross. What do you guys think? 160, 170 ,180 or 190 class buck?
Also, you may need to manually adjust the quality of the video to 480p to get a better picture.

>in the 160s. nice buck,,,,

I agree. I measured the one I shot this year, which had better tine length than this buck, and he is around 166".

General season=BANG! Or let the arrow fly. I would say with the extras hes over 170. 5x6, 5 on his left and 6 on the right with the 2 extras. Very nice.

175" with the extras give or take a few inches. Nice buck!

With the extras I think he is all of 175"... I don't know where I'd have to be standing to pass him up. Opening day on the Henry's is about it...

Musta got away from ya..?? Since he's in the velvet in the video..? He'll be a real bruiser next year...

Low 170's.
Very nice buck!
I shot one with my bow a couple years back that scored 166" and this one is very close to mine, plus extras should put him low 170's.
Thanks for letting us take a look at him.

Actually, this buck was killed by a friend of mine on the archery hunt. I'm posting this because I want people to know that score isn't everything and sometimes a buck ends up better than you think and sometimes not. (score wise). I personally think these kinds of posts help all of us better understand what a buck scores compared to its pictures in the field. Either still shot or video.
Here's a trail cam picture of this buck.

Let's see some more guesses on what you think about this buck.
Would these trail cam pictures get you excited?

WOW. I was hoping for a few more guesses after the trail cam pics. Oh well. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one to really under guess on this bucks score. Here's the video of the first time I saw him at well over a mile away. Sorry the video is so out of focus. I was taking it through my spotting scope.

Hard to believe this buck ends up scoring right at 190".

Sure, 192" the day it was killed. 190" after drying period.
Hey SW, that buck sure has the "WOW" factor in person doesn't it?
The story and field photos should be coming out in a mag. near you.
Congrats Tom, on one heck of a buck.

This really, REALLY proves how hard it is to score a buck when viewing him on a crumby little computer.

Thanks for sharing the info with us. I'm sure he would have even more WOW factor had we been able to see him in person.

Best,
Zeke

I have personal experience in under judging a mule deer's score but there is nothing better than getting a happy surprise when you finally pull out the tape. Congrats to Tom
