MT to NV

I am visiting my mom in Gardenerville, NV and I was wondering if anyone familiar with the area could point me in the right direction for some nice hikes, that would be awesome. Also, I would'nt mind catching a peek at a few NV Elk . Thanks

Sorry Ross most Nv elk are in eatern nv. And we have had alot of rain here so most trails will be a muddy mess. There are alot of trails but right now I would personally go x-country skiing or snow shoeing on mount Rose. to get out of the mud. good luck, Star

Try going up Hwy 88 into CA, the Hope Valley/Carson Pass Area. Should have lots of snow.

call nv/ca raods first 88 was closed due to a land slide yesterday. as was I80.

Hope Valley off 88 or Markleeville area would be my advice. No elk.

Thanks for all the advice, I am heading up hwy 88 tommorow morning. It sure is a beautiful valley here. Too bad about the elk, I would love to have seen a few.
