UBA Conservation Tags??

I have been a member of UBA for years.

Utah Bowmens Asoc. we have never been a non-profit wildlife org and would never even consider getting into the Conservation tag deal.

Any one know what the deal is? or with whom the deal is with?

Ducks Unlimited getting conservation tag too.... huh?

UBA is getting two conservation tags as to be able to put money on the ground that will benifit wildlife and archery directly. EVERY penny will be accounted for and not one dime will be spent on salaries. This a one year trial to see if doing this will be benifical to archers and not hurt them. These two tags are not new tags, they were already in the pool, we just got them over some other group. UBA feels that we need to be more proactive in hunting related issues and this will help.

Archery deer tag for Vernon and archery deer tag for Book Cliffs. We will have them auctioned on Feb. 3. We are looking at a different place for our bauquet this year as we hope for more people to attend. When we get that figured out we will post on our website "utahbowmen.org".

Makes sense and those Conseervatin tags certainly are not going away....

UBA might just as well get a few and do some good with them.

Is the banquet dates/place going to be in the BowString?

The banquet info will be in the next bowstring as well as being posted on the website "utahbomwen.org". The Board of Cirectors felt the same way about the conservation tags, they are here to stay and by getting a couple we can directly benifit wildlife and BOWHUNTING. These two tags were already out there, it was just a matter of who was going to get them.

The projects we will be working on are still in the planning stages, we will go over the details at our next board meeting in Jan. and after we see the dollar amount from the banquet Feb 3, we will be able to finalize the project(s) at our March board meeting. We are right now looking at putting in some guzzlers ouot west that will help the deer and lopes. We can't know for sure what we will do until we know how much money we have to work with.
