Not to piss on your parade, but you could still be antlerless! Last year's harvest statistics say that 11% of hunters from your unit went home empty! That's why we call it huntin!
Congratulations and Good luck anyway!

If 11% of hunters went home empty, then 89% went home with an elk. I don't know about ya'll, but I like those odds.

I saw many good bulls last year on the general deer hunt. However, I can not assure you that they made it past the late hunt. I am sure there are still some giants roamin the hills. Do your homework and you should have no problem taking a great bull. Goodluck and congrats.

well thanks guys i live in the unit and have lived there my whole life. so i know the area well plus i know personally two guys that picked up two sets of elk horns that grossed just over four hundred. not broken and huge so i can't wait.

Wow littlebighorn so your telling me that out of the twenty tags 18 killed and 2 went home empty handed i'll take my chances. thanks ya i know my chances of killing are low 11% chance of going home empty handed now im scared. i'll take those chances to vegas!

Sorry to ruffle your feathers there Antlerless! I was just being a little devil's advocate and poking fun at your "handle".
I am sure you will get your bull---especially if you live in the unit! It's just that your post reminded me of my neighbor who had a late elk tag on the Manti last year and he ended up eating tag soup! He thought killing a big bull was a "slam dunk" and then got skunked. He pretty much hunted every day of the hunt and only had one chance at a good bull and missed a long shot.
So----good on you for getting the tag and show us your pictures next fall, and if for some "low odds" reason you do miss your chance, PM me and I will send you my neighbor's soup recipe.

it's all good i just can't believe i got a tag finally i guess i was a little excited i guess i souldn't count my chickens till they hatch. i'm hoping i get a big bull but not looking for a state record or anything a big bull to me is anything over 350. but who knows i may need that recipe i'll keep you posted.

You ought to be excited! You have a great tag!
I think my neighbor's problem was first he probably sighted in his gun over the hood of his truck at a beer can the night before the hunt. Then he went expecting the elk to be where he had seen them earlier in the year. I doubt he talked to anyone who knew were the elk would be and I don't think he was willing to get out and find them. I am sure your MM Name won't fit soon, as long as you do your homework and get your shooting down. Then you'll be eatin tough old bull elk stake instead of paper soup.
