YA KNOW I REALLY ENJOY TRED BARTA, HE IS ENTERTAINING, AND MAKES ME LAUGH. BUT...... I DONT THINK I WOULD WANT HIM IN MY DEERCAMP FOR A WEEK--10 DAYS. MANY OF YOU MM GUYS THINK YOU WOULD WANT TO HAVE HIM IN YOUR CAMP FOR A WEEK OR SO??? HE IS INTENSE. HE DOES IT THE HARD WAY,.... THE BARTA WAY. ...YD.

Not sure I would want the guy in my camp, although he is fairly entertaining. He was bowhunting doe mulies in Colorado and just wingin and flingin long shots well BEYOND his admitted limit. I think he said he missed 10 times before finally hitting a doe.... this was after already hitting one and losing it. The show could have used some serious editing of missed shot after missed shot and focused more on the part of the hunt where he actually stuck something.

I saw that one as well DK. He certainly wasn't afraid to toss some arrows out there. I only saw his guide with him the one day and he looked a little frustrated after Barta screwed up a stalk by tripping over some rocks. This guy is way to wired, but it works for him I guess.

DK, YOU SAID IT LIKE IT WAS. BUT I DID REALLY ENJOY IT WHEN HE DUMPED HIS COOKIES IN THE CREEK. HIS KID LIKED IT TOO. ..YD.

Aside from the missed shots it was very entertaining... the part about the creek was funny! His shows about fishing are the only ones entertaining enough to watch, he is hardcore!

That guy cracks me up. I saw the doe hunt on tv last weekend and I laughed my a$$ of when he fell in the creek. The guy is so intense, its like he just drank a pot of high-rev coffee.

I guess I wouldn't mind hunting with him for a few days. At least he takes it seriously and is not afraid to work hard. That's more than I can say for some I've hunted with.

Caught the tail ending of his show this evening where he shot a doe with his long bow. I think he had his son with him and he was actually showing the kid how to field dress the buck. This was a first, never seen ANYONE before on TV do it. The kid was doing it and the way that knife came up a few times, I thought that he would stick old Tred with it.

I watched most of the show last night on OLN. I was not impressed. He seems like a moron, who is proud to be one, and enjoys the attention he gets from it. I guess this is obvious since he has his own show.
My wife doesn't hunt and watched the show with me. She has always been very respectful of me and my love of hunting, but this show really turned her off. I was pretty disappointed.
Also, he did harvest the second doe, but isn't it a pretty bad idea to shoot at a bedded animal? The shoulder moves right in front of the vitals and covers most of the lethal kill area.

That's funny....I've heard people whinning that these shows are too "stage". That all the shots are perfect and it well...."just doesn't happen that way all the time."

Now here's a guy that shows it like it is, and tells it like it is. Yea, he was flinging arrows at that doe, but the guys killed over 70 big game animals, I doubt those shots he was taken weren't anything we wouldn't try if we were comfortable with the traditional gear.

Did you guys see his elk hunt....now, you can tell he felt fortunate to take a big ol' bull like that and totally appreciated what he had accomplished. It's cool to see an ol' veteran hunter still get excited like that after taken an animal.

I think the dude's a crack up....I don't know if I could spent a week with the guy, but, enjoy his shows none the less.

I think that I have about 5 or 6 TRED BARTA'S in my hunting camp
now so what the heck! bring him on.

Tred did admit that hunting mule deer was his hardest hunt to date, stating they had terrific hearing, etc.

He is like Homer with a bow.
