I moved to CO about 5 months ago and have digitally scouted many different units. I'm looking at unit 47 but it's pretty far from home and would prefer something a little closer. I live in Boulder. Any info helps thanks

I'm a bow hunter and I'm looking for something pretty remote with not many roads or trails because I will probably do a bivy hunt. Any suggestions help I'm open to any unit.

Do you have a partner? Have you hunted elk before? Trophy class or just a bull? How far from the road would you be willing to go?

LAST EDITED ON Jan-01-18 AT 06:22PM (MST)[p]Most guys worth their salt arent going to throw good otc options out for free... honestly the best advice i can give you is pour over topo maps/google earth, look at sources like gohunt and top rut this winter and come spring/summer get out on the weekends and do the leg work on areas that interest you. The great thing about the Colorado otc game is a guy can pick about any unit, put the time in and be sucessful. I honestly feel that i can throw a dart at a game units (that i don't know,or havent hunted) and with a solid summer of scouting i can be sucessful in harvesting an animal or getting an opportunity/opportunities.
