So who's shoot'n and conditioning? For me I am getting up there in age mid 60's so to make the climbs and distance traveled ( min. 12 miles round trip back to the truck or ATV) daily. I have to workout, shoot, and climb local mountains to get my body in shape for each season. It's getting harder every year to keep up with the younger ones in our group. Even with all the conditioning after about 5 days of our pace of hunting at 8500 feet elevation my body is physically spent. I get there but I'm getting slower each year. Even with shooting at least 60 arrows per day come hunting season 5 days into our hunt it is so hard to draw my bow more that a couple of times. Just enough strength left for that kill shot....we hunt hard in steep rough terrain where you can't ride a horse in and out in a ton of places.

Father Time is catching up with me but hunting, being out in the woods, is my passion. I can see the time coming soon when I will need to stay back, cut back and hunt closer to vehicles or camp. You young guys ...enjoy your time.....

So who is shoot'n and conditioning already for their hunts?

Started working out in November, been at it 3-4 times a week. Dropped 20 lbs so far and gained lots of strength. Also changed my pins, got rid of my 20 and 30 and now have 40-80. Shooting 50-60 arrows a day. Feels good to be on top of it.
