Insole Question

I was wondering if any of you have tried the Lathrop and Sons insoles? They seem to have good reviews but I am having a hard time seeing how they would have much arch support. I am trying to decide between the Lathrop insoles and superfeet, what do you guys think?

I have two pairs of the Lathrop and Sons insoles and they are very comfortable. I have very flat feet and was also worried about the lack of an arch support. My feet always give me trouble, but I have not experienced any difficulties on my daily conditioning hikes. The Lathrop insoles are bowed out in the middle where a normal arch support would be and they kind of create an arch support when they are in the boot and move up the inside. I have always used the green Superfeet insoles for their good arch support, but the Lathrop insoles are extremely comfortable and I haven't had any issues with my trouble prone feet. They are a little pricy, but they do work. I hope this helps.

More guys should pay attention to the footbeds. Proper foot postion and support can save you foot problems down the road- trust me I'm there....sigh

I've tried multiple insoles from Superfeet, New Balance, Sole, and Spenco and had custom orthotics for years. I tried a bunch of these and now forsake the customs for off the shelf ones.

I think Superfeet are way over rated compared to some of the Spenco and others. Right now the Spenco Gel Total Support are my favorite though many would consider them heavy. My feet do not get sore with them- period.
My #2 is the NB sport Cushion[ exact name?]

But what works for me won't be best for you. For example, Spenco makes a low volume [fairly flat profile with thin neoprene] that just does nothing for me. Best to go to a running store where you can test some of these and determine what works best for you. "The Insole Store" online has a great selection and good pricing but always best to try these in person.
