I would like to swap a georgia alligator hunt for a western big game hunt ( elk, mule deer etc.). I am not a guide, I just have access to some good gator hunting property and have had good luck in the past. You may hunt alone and use my boat or I could guide you. I also have a fish camp for lodging. I can cook for you and when you are not hunting you will have access to some great fishing.

Alligator season is usually in september and a tag only costs about $50 or $60 dollars, but it takes 2 or 3 years to draw.

Would anyone be interested in something like this or have any suggestions.

How big is the average alligator, and how big would a BIG one be? Also, what weapons can you use, and what weapon is recomended? I know that in Africa, they usually try to shoot them in the brain. Thanks, Scott/couesbitten

The average size we take are around 8 to 10 feet. We see some real big ones around 12 plus. The real big ones are old and smart. They are harder to kill, but not impossible if you put in some time.

In Georgia you have to have a line attached to the gator before you can dispatch it. The most common way , is to use a bow with a muzzy gator gitter(which is like a big fish arrow). That means you have to get close and that makes it very exciting to say the least.Once you have a line in the gator you fight him until you can dispatch him with a pistol or bang stick. I always shoot them in the brain or at the base of the neck if I want to keep it's skull.
