whitetail muzzy hunt help

I would like to hunt whitetails during Thanksgiving week (november 19-26) in the lower midwest area of the us with a muzzle loader. I live in south alabama and would like to bring my son (16) along for the hunt. I would be driving and the states I have looked at so far are Arkansas and Missouri, They dont have muzzy hunt during this time (either rifle or archery only) Does anybody ahve any sugggestions as to how/where to do a muzzy hunt during this time of the year.(dates are fixed due to school vacation)

I'm not sure if you have a specific reason for wanting to muzzle load hunt. In some states you can hunt with a muzzle loader during rifle season. If the muzzle loader is just a personal preference you may want to check if it's ok in the area you want to go to.

Illinoios muzzle or shotgun. That will be first gun season.

Thanks for the info. Muzzy hunt was top of list to try to get into woods with less pressure. We are game for shotgun/rifle, but thought the woods would be full of local hunters. I will look into Illinois.

Less hunters due to muzzy season in the midwest is a daydream. You'll have plenty of help. Pick up a bow and it will open a lot of opportunity.

I hunted with my son in norther Missouri on a muzzy hunt with those dates. It was a few years back dont remember all the details. We did not see much he got a turkey. We were also on private land I had leased. I don't know of any public land up there. I am sure there is some.
