Hello, I have been following this site for years now (I love seeing all of the elk & deer stories), but this is my first post. I have an opportunity to go with a friend and meet his buddy who lives in the Durango area. We will be hunting elk and applying for a mule deer tag. Just looking for any info on what type of game, terrain, etc. I can expect. Although we are from PA, I have hunted the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest and the Kootenai National Forest in Montana and have a general idea how tough some of the terrain and hunting can be. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as it will give me something to do over the long winter months. Thank you.
