So went back up to the Arizona Strip with Cody Jalbert, one of the guides at Arizona Wildlife Outfitters, and new friend Travis Allman.
Those boys know how to find mule deer for sure.
Quite the experience, glassing, setting cameras and exploring country.
Wished I had the time to go up there and just look around for two weeks.!
We saw a lot of deer, nothing what I'd call "HUGE" but deer that most bow hunters would be tickled to death to shoot.
An exciting time was had Saturday night when at dark it started to cloud up,with a little thunder and lightening.
The boys told me to come inside to sleep.
I told em I wanted to stay outside to enjoy the fresh, cool air.
Finally, the wind came up so hard it blew my Butler bag off the 4 inch foam pad so I moved inside.
Good thing, cause around midnight it came a "Frog Strangler" with rain and hail..
Anyway, awesome time with those guys. Saw deer, turkeys, chukars and even a flock of Gambel's quail.
Cody and his dad are going to have a real hunt of a lifetime I think.
Here are some favorite pictures.
