12A East, Late season...oops

Oops! I put my kids in for Kaibab late season 12A east just cuz it was hard to draw and they needed their points. Didn't know anything about the unit other than it's hard to draw. Well, my oldest boy drew the tag. Now what?

I didn't think I'd have time this year. Already took vacation days from work in January for a random bison bull tag that I drew with only 6 points. Have 8 tags (elk, deer, antelope) to fill this fall between me an my 3 kids. Now I gotta make the time for another tag. Gosh darn the luck!

So, is this a good tag? Anybody have any experience on this unit during the late season?

I had the tag back in 2008 when the deer population on the Kaibab was probably close to the lowest it had been in decades. I spent most of my time down low around the "Loop."

Without going into all the details I got there 5 days early and left the day after the season ended without a buck. Saw plenty, but nothing over 160".

I sure wish I could go back in time and change that application and keep my points.
