How was rut activity last year? Asking as the dates are earlier this year and probably will continue to move forward over the next couple years...

About like normal, IMO......bugles first hour or two in morning-last hour of light. If you happen to get lucky where two or three herds come together with a few mature bulls.....it's an awesome day.

I've arrowed bulls in this state on opening day and at the end of the hunt.......if you're looking for good dates, you'll need to wait until 2022.

Like stated above. we had bugling all night long, but then only carried 1 or 2 hours into daylight. Started up again about an hour before dark. Spot and stalk thru the trees was useless throughout the day, better to just go back to camp and rest up. Had three close encounters in 5 days, and finally closed with a big six point on about the 7th. It actually kept getting better the closer you got to the end.
