16A rifle tag donation

I've drawn a Non resident 16A 2nd season rifle tag, and do to unforeseen circumstances

I won't be able to make this once in a lifetime hunt and I'd like this tag to go to a good cause. Is there a non profit organization like Make a Wish or Wounded Warrior that I can donate this tag to.

Good on you for this idea. To do a tag transfer you first have to have an acceptable reason according to the NMGF i.e. medical, deployment, etc. the list of acceptable reasons is short. Once that is approved, you have to have an individual wanting the tag so that they can fill out the required transfer paperwork. I imagine that wounded warriors or make a wish would have people that are interested but step one is making sure you have an acceptable reason for transfer.

Being a NR ,it would have to be transferred to another NR. THATS VERY GENEROUS OF YOU.

From page 13 of the publications:
"'License Refunds, Transfers and Donations?continued.
A license or permit may be donated to NMDGF for transfer to a youth (17 years or younger) who has been recommended by a nonprofit organization that promotes youth hunting. Refunds are not offered for donated licenses. Recommending nonprofit organizations must be approved and recognized by the New Mexico State Game Commission. For more information
telephone NMDGF."

I'd call game and fish and see who have they have as an approved org and go that route.

Sorry however, kudos to you. The NM G and F just posted a universal e-mail recently regarding accepting donation of tags from Hunter's who will be unable to make their hunts for whatever reason.
As mentioned previously, contact them or check their homepage.
