Hey guys..Looking for a place to spend my winters. Love to bird hunt and bow hunt the southwest deserts.. Any thoughts on the Truth or Consequences area?...Thanx.BH1

I would suggest las Cruces
it a growing town and there is a hospital there.
easy access to every day living and close to hunting and fishing with in a couple of hours.

T or C is pretty small community. depends on what you want in a living area.

I agree with what the others have said but ultimately it is up to you what kind of atmosphere you want as a retirement community.

If you don't mind the desert area, then Las Cruces would probably be best or something in between Las Cruces and El Paso. If you want to be out of the hustle and bustle and a little closer to wilderness areas, then maybe Silver City. If you want to be close to mountains but stay in the desert, then Alamogordo may be your spot.

T or C is small and it does not have a lot of variety in my opinion as well.

Good Luck!

Some of us like small, super close to Elephant Butte for fishing. I know a couple of guys recently retired living there and they love it . Lots and lots of bird hunting almost out your back door .

Thanx for the replys! That was the other thing I was looking at, the year round fishing at EB. Hot springs too, after a winter quail hunt..
