Anyone catch this documentary on TV? I just saw it on PBS. Neat story about a guy near Lander WY that joins the local mule deer and follows their life journey - basically becomes one with the herd.

Watched it last year and thought it was pretty cool video. Read the book also. In the book it tells that Fish and Game shut that area down for this actual study. That's why Joe was upset about the harvest. It never documented this in the actual TV show. He makes a lot of good points considering our mule deer situation here in the west.

Yep, they are in crisis.
Anyone that spends time with the deer can see that, even knowledgeable guides are asking for reducing tags in their areas.
The best analogy is California's water problems
Is an issue that needs addressing, and it gets attention, then they get a real wet year like this one and everyone pretends is all ok now.
The Hutto study only highlights the problems facing mule deer, it can't make the states address them.
