Bio was telling me there were lots of MD taken in NE MT this year still holding velvet,wonder if thats a side effect of the blue tongue?Anyone know?

Don't know for sure, but last year a saw 7 different bucks still in velvet all the way up to the end of season. This year due to a job switch I was in the field 75% of the season and I saw no velvet bucks of any type. I am in NE Montana, must have been another area that they were in.

That's a nice first buck!
Blue tongue can but typically doesn't affect MD. If a deer does have blue tongue, they ususally die in 5-10 days. To my knowledge being in velvet has absolutely nothing to do with BT.
