2nd Mt. Goat tag in 2 years. Real happy about it. Last year my son is in High School and he can go with me for sure. Gonna take him out for a week to make it happen.
May get him an OTC elk tag while we are there.

Brad, my other tag was a G13 CO mt. goat tag. I killed a small billy, but, was able to do it with just my son on our own. Was happy with him, but, want to hold out for something bigger this time.
Hoping those peaks are not over 14000 ft in MT.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-25-15 AT 02:45PM (MST)[p]Do you know this unit Paul? There's not a ton of goats, and they're spread out over a pretty big range. good news is access isn't bad once you locate them, and you can do a lot of glassing from the truck with a spotting scope. It's a great tag, but might take some time to locate a good billy.

I spotted two really nice billies last year while antelope hunting, would've been a really easy stalk and pack out.

Randy, we are going in pretty much cold. I hunted the gravellies many many years ago by Ennis. Of course I did not expect to draw the tag with 14 points. I think the odds were 2%.

I selected the unit, only on the advice that it was a hunt that could be done with outfitters or horses. I will be getting some info from Tyler at HF and plan on calling some previous hunters if there are any. I welcome any suggestions anyone may have. I can offer my experience in NM, and can honestly say I have helped many people that have asked in the past in units/hunts I am familiar with.
Antelope hunting and Mt. Goat hunting was not something I would put together, but, that is pretty cool.

HaHaHa!! Bruce, Caitlin, or whatever it is, I bet would be a riot in camp. The stories he could tell. LOL!!

I spend about 75 days a year in this unit. It's a great tag and you shouldn't have a hard time finding goats. Like randy said though, you may need to look over a few goats to find a nice Billy. Good luck!

Paul, I also drew this tag as a non-resident back in 2012. I will gladly tell you what we saw while hunting this unit. I ended up with a 5 1/2 year old billy. You have a great tag, enjoy every second of it. I also drew a Montana sheep tag this year. So to say I am excited is a understatement. Chris,
