anyone have any experience in this area? what to expect? deer numbers? ive hunted all over 43,36,48 but no this area. was just curious if anyone had any good intel.

Deer numbers are still down a bit, but there are good ones in there still. Watch for private property at the mouth, along the Smoky Creek Road, and above the Little Smoky Home Sites. Plenty of NF to hike, and good road access to a lot of jumping off points. The deer really like to brush up all day in the quakie pockets and little springs in the heads of draws. Will you be camping??? Bowns Campground right at the junction of big and Little Smoky is a nice place to camp.
