Mt. Emily Deer Rifle LATE

My brother is about three to four years away from drawing this hunt. Has anyone had this and if so is it worth the wait? He's wondering if he should stop chasing and just split his point with someone and go on a differant hunt this next season.

I really doubt this hunt makes another two years. I have heard nothing but horror stories (hardly any deer and those killed were dinks). If he has the points, there are better rut blacktail hunts.

Coming from a guide that's been on that hunt alot.......DON'T WASTE 4 POINTS ON THIS HUNT!

Very few deer.....VERY few, if any deer on public land that will go over 170"........sad but true. Like every unit in Oregon, there is an occasional big buck taken......but its not worth burning any points on.
And I agree.....bet this hunt gets canceled in next year or so......

Thanks for the feed back, he has 12 points. Not sure there's a deer tag in Oregon worth that many.

Honestly, I dont think Oregon has a hunt worth 12 points. But in 4-5 years, I think that will no longer be the case. ODFW is doing a FEW things right in a FEW units. I think this will help start getting the older age class again......
