My wife has a tag and I have made a few scouting trips. Seen a few deer. I have hunted a lot of different states and I know deer come in all sizes. I don't want to over judge them so how big are the ears in this neck of the woods? How would you compare them to say Northern Utah/Southern Idaho?

I shot one a few years ago that had ears 26"tip to tip I don't think that's the norm up that way though

x5b holds some great bucks or at least it did before that fire burned through there about 5 years ago. I hunted it once but was unsuccessful. If you hunt it, find the nastiest looking piece of ground you can find out there and you'll probably end up filling your tag. Good luck!

LAST EDITED ON Sep-12-15 AT 06:44PM (MST)[p]body size is a big factor, i've seen deer up to 27" tip to tip taken outta there...a friend made the mistake of just going by ear span without considering body size and passed on a good buck only to later see someone shot the buck which turned out to be 32" scadadle Mt buck
