My wife has a kitchen aid mixer and today while looking for a meat grinder I came across an attachment for her mixer for only 45 bucks. Has anyone used one? Do they work well? any info is helpful....Smitty

I would kick in an extra $55 and just get an actual meat grinder...Even the $100 ones in cabelas work great..My buddy has had one for over 6 years and it is still working good...I think it comes with a sausage stuffer attachment as well...

I hear you on that one. She likes the idea of the attachment more than I do. I'm more of the type to buy something nice and only buy it once. On the other hand her mixer is the most powerful kind they have and I have read tons of positive reviews on the attachment. I was just seeing if anyone had one or had used one.....

I was thinking about getting one as well for the wife's Kitchen Aid as well. The motors are powerful so I would think they would do the job, but I would like to know if anyone has used one as well.

My mom's got one for her mixer. we've used it for lots of deer and elk in the past 6 or 8 years that she's had it. it works great. never any problems.

Bought one this year, works great, have to clean the cutting blades frequently as the silver skin plugs it up, I'm sure a nice grinder probably goes through the meat faster, but for 40 bucks what the heck!

I've been using one for about 6 years. The down side is that you need to cut your chunks a bit smaller and the blade will need cleaned about half way through an elk. The up sides totally out way the down sides though. Up sides would be that its easy to store, easy clean up, gives you a reason to use that paper weight on the counter.

I bought one for our Kitchen Maid and before I even used it, I discovered how easy it is to bottle the meat. (Learned it from this exact site, just look down a ways) Anyway, we use the bottled meat in place of hamburger and enjoy every mouth full.
