This is how the Whitetail Cross Bucks happen in Wyoming??

I was surprised to see this scene on the winter range in very South West Wyoming.

Yes, look closer that is a whitetail with a buck and doe mule deer.

Looks like he's on the muley doe in front of him.

We see mule and whitetail on the same fields all the time, but don't see hybrids any that I can recall. If they are noticeably hybrid that is.
 
Same here. See them together almost every day. I saw one in the 90's I'm sure was a cross, but it is rare.

And JM, just went to Sportsman's. Great buck and he has some of the darkest horns I've seen on a WY deer. Congrats.

Thanks Jim, darkest of any I've taken. Some burns in the area is my guess.
