I think it’s because there are at least 8 legitimate gas stations. Four on the freeway exit. Perfect example of what free market, free enterprise and competitive buying/selling will do. And, as you mentioned it’s a natural place to refuel regardless of the direction your going, either east or west.Topped off at the Love's in Salina Thursday morning. Salina should have some of the highest prices in the state because heading east on I-70 the next place for gas is green river and that's over 100 miles away. Why they are always among the cheapest is a head-scratcher.
Even in Bicknell and Loa it was $3.20 while here in Delta it was $3.45 at the same time.
Back in the good ole' days of Trump I believe it was 2019 I filled up some barrels in Salina and bought 350 gallons for $1.27 a gallon. I sure miss those mean tweets.
Yet look at Beaver, it has always had some of the highest prices along I-15. There are quite a few stations and it isn't nearly as far down the road for other options to fuel up. Richfield is close to Salina, it has many more stations and the cost is higher than Salina.I think it’s because there are at least 8 legitimate gas stations. Four on the freeway exit. The 100 miles without another source makes a difference
Years ago the cheapest gas was always the Flying J west of Brigham City, then for a while it was the Flying J in Nephi. The last two years Salina has been the one.
When Pilot bought out Flying J the dynamics changed. Also Maverik is making a huge push for market share, it seems. I ran across a Maverik down in New Mexico last week. First time I’ve seen one south of Colorado. It all helps when these gas retailers compete for customers. Merging large corporations never seems to help the buying public. There has been too much of that in the fuel industry over the last 50 years. This is a refreshing break.

I first met a couple of the Larson's I think it was the dad and a couple of his boys on the ferry from Ketchikan to Prince of Wales. We were going on a spring black bear hunt and so were they, back when you could buy a bear tag over the counter. I think it was about 2006 and I was the Hunting Dept. manager at Hurst Ace hardware in St. George back when they had a hunting department.Yes Sir, it is.

$7.49 at Safeway for Whole Milkhow much are you paying for a gallon of milk these days?
Time to visit your closest Dairy and get used to whole milk or buy a crème separator. Make you and the dairyman both better off. This isn’t the first time milk has been drank without a Safeway involved.$7.49 at Safeway for Whole Milk
100% illegal in Cali.....Time to visit your closest Dairy and get used to whole milk or buy a crème separator. Make you and the dairyman both better off. This isn’t the first time milk has been drank without a Safeway involved.

Those beef cows give milk, just as much and not as rich in crème. Back in the 50/60s we milked our own, they were all beef cows.No Dairy here on Kauai. Everything has to be imported.
