I've used the Kifaru Gunbearer on quite a few packs. Best option out there IMO. It can take a little tweaking to get it set up how you like it but it is way than the Eberlestock scabbard and is very secure.

You're confusing anecdotal evidence with fact.

I used to have that same Vortex spotter you are looking at but upgraded to the Swaro ATX this year. I am glad I did and can definitely see the difference, but it most assuredly is a big price to pay for a relatively small gain in performance.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you're probably in the vast minority on having zippers down the leg. It's awfully nice to be able to slip them on over your boots quickly in a treestand or anywhere else in the field for that matter
