Went out and tried the BH powder last weekend. Started with 80 gr and then 90 gr. looked like a shot gun blast at 100 yrds. Needless to say i was very frustrated. Decided its to close to my Sept elk hunt so i went back to my 777 load. Maybe i'll fool with it again during the off season.

I would like to try some BH209 after reading all the good reviews on it. I've been shooting 90 gr. of Triple 7 and 348 gr powerbelts. What would be an equal or good starting load using BH.

Can i get some opinions on the Hornaday 300 gr SST bullet. I'll be hunting elk with it. Only taken one big game animal with a ML, a cow elk. I have been shooting 348 powerbelts and they worked fine on that cow but seem to get mixed reviews on here. The Hornadays were cheap so i picked up a box...

Anyone know of a butcher in the Elko that would hang an animal for a few days. If i kill my bull i want to be able to go back and try and fill my cow tag without meat spoilage concerns.

So im looking at getting into the point game for a moose tag. My question is at age 37 with 0 points will i ever gain enough non res WY points to draw? If not what other states are worth buying points for?
