Deer hide for gloves in SE Idaho?

I know there used to be a couple of leather places that would trade you a pair of gloves for your deer hide in northern Idaho. Does anyone know if there is someone in south east Idaho that will do the same? Thanks!

    Grizz in unit 66

Yes, there is a possibility. It's a personal desicion as to whether you feel bear spray is worth it. I personally carry spray and a firearm as I would like to have as many options as possible if I encounter one.

Access changes through the Elk Refuge in Jackson

Not sure how many folks on here make it up to Jackson, but haven't seen any discussion of this. Changes to access regulations can be read here http://www.fws.gov/nwrs/threecolumn.aspx?id=2147547530 No crossing of the Gros Ventre and opening of the refuge road at midnight will make for an...

    Wyoming opener

In a lot of the areas around Jackson and South East Idaho certain parts (winter range) of the National Forest have human entry closures. In most places in Idaho it is lifted on April 15th, in Wyoming it matches the shed antler restrictions and is lifted on May 1st. Hence some of the tickets...

    Moose help

I would second the Pine Creek pass area of unit 67. Yesterday morning there were 3 cows and one good mature bull all within 3/4 of a mile to the north of the parking area at the top of the pass. Seems to be lots of moose hanging in the area.

Finding the second of a set

When you guys find one side of a set, particularly elk, how do you typically proceed to find the other side? Do you start searching in an ever increasing circle? If so, how far from the first antler to you get before you give up and continue on? Or do you make no adjustments and just continue...
