39 and 40....40 would be better to get away from people but you have to drop down and come back up for most of the hunting in the unit. 39 you will have a lot of people too accessible. Either way 39 or 40 your gonna have a crowd.

I'm gonna echo as well. Too many people, deer and elk do open the same day. Unfortunately the bighorns are turning into a crap shoot for any kind of hunting.

Not many roads to elk...roads will give you a starting point but bring a good pair of boots and a good pack. Pretty rugged wherever you decide to walk from. Good luck

When the residents have to starting drawing that unit, you non res will not see very many tags when that happens IMO. Unfortunately the deer need to be managed as a LQ area, but when it does you won't touch that tag with 5 points, better get ready to wait. So if that sounds like a "great day"...

not really. you gotta understand that all and any resident that doesn't draw deer will be general tag and can go hunt over there just to hunt. Its not a good deer hunt IMO. Im just throwing that out there. Plus its not that big of an area so if you think there is tons of room to get away you...

440 this is the first year the cow tag starts on the first in 39. Yes cow hunters don't go far off the road but I do personally know people taking horses in for the early tag. Weather is something to watch closely.

Well sorry to those who drew a bull or any tag (including my dad), the wonderful g&f has put out this year an early cow tag. It opens the first and when people start shooting the elk kinda move out.

I believe in Wyoming you must take blinds/tree-stands down after the hunt is over? i could be wrong but i know the warden around here has a pile of tree stands, just waiting for the owner to pick them up...
