5 years ago while hunting in the cliff creek drainage I saw a sow with 2 cubs and another single grizzly, we didn't even see a black bear. The pictures posted above IS a brown black bear.

check the outer areas of the unit, Delaney rim, adobe town ect. There are less goats but maybe find a better one. If you start at Wamsutter and drive south and stop to look at every goat you see youll never get more than 10 mile from town

As a non res I assume it possible to apply for a deer unit with left over tags and not draw due to the 10% cap, but if that happens can I still purchase(if available)a leftover tag? The regs don't seem to spell it out very good for non res info. Hopefully someone knows the answer. Is there even...

for what its worth each person has their own limitations and preference on how they hunt, that is fine and thank god we have the freedom in america to do this. no one agrees on everything nor will they ever, it dont necessarily make it right or wrong. I would guess 90% of hunters pick up a tag...

How is the hunt going?

here is a pic of my first moose taken in Sask. It was a slow hunt and extremely windy which made calling difficult so I opted to carry the rifle.... this one come in on a string and I wish I had my bow! go figure. Glad to have a moose on the ground.

My guess is 27" wide on buck #1, and 155" on buck #2. i'm no expert either but I don't beleive i'm far off.

there are elk there and some very big ones as well, most of the elk hang right on the river but a few are taken when they leave the private as well. The ranch you have permission from should be able to tell you if they generally have elk hang out their or if its more of a get lucky and catch...

I guess the short story is I got lucky! I had been scouting hard since early August and had turn up a few nice deer but most of them I only saw a couple of times. Then The rut kicked in. I found this buck a couple days before I got him but he gave me the slip. He wasn't as lucky the 2nd time.

generally speaking state school lands are sections 16 and 36. this is not a constant as land swaps and so on have taken place. I do know of a state school land in the bighorn basin that has a house and a farm on it. Looking at all the maps and gps software I was nervous that it really was not...

Don't get me wrong, but I'm kind of amazed that they are at least doing something vs what has been the norm in past years. I think they have a start in some areas which is a good sign. Certianly this is not an overnight fix, our herds will likely take several years to even somewhat recover.

States manage their land for one thing and only one thing MONEY. Public access to these lands is dependant on how it affects the lands profitabilty, so if the land has grazing value or other value and the public has an impact on the quality of the grass(for example) it can be closed to public...
