The Uintas can be a great place for the OTC utah elk. If you are willing to hike and stay overnight you can find elk if you put on some miles. Wasatch holds bulls that you can hunt clear until December with the OTC license but you won't find as much room to hunt and more people. Some good bulls...

I'm sure a lot of you have multiple tags during a season. Well, this year I had a few hunts myself. Two are mine and one was my brother's. After all the smoke has begun to settle from the first two archery hunts, I am now left with a La Sal Mountain Fall Bear spot and stalk ONLY tag that opens...

Area 10=Nasty, unforgiving country. Everyone has a budget, though. Buy the most solid, steady boot you can afford. Kenetrek, Crispi, Zamberlan, or Lowa come to mind. You're feet will appreciate it. Stiffer, more rigid sole on a boot doesn't transfer as much fatigue to your foot in nasty, rocky...

I agree with that. The timing wasn't good the past three years so I just built preference points. I just want the best bang for my points. Even if that means applying for a unit that only requires 1 NR point, or even 0.

If you had 3 NR deer PP, were looking to hike in deep for a week during the archery hunt, and wanted to kill a good 4x4 160"+, where would you apply? Or would you wait and keep building points?

welcome to the forum! I'm in the same boat as my first choice was La Sal fall bear and I got hit $83 on my CC. Maybe I'll see you out there! Wish I had some advice on bears but never hunted them before. Should be a riot spot and stalk.
