Thoughts on a San Juan Spot and Stalk hunt

I drew the San Juan spot and stalk tag this year and was pretty excited about it. I have never been in that area and work has kicked my butt this year not allowing me to go down and do any research. I wanted to reach out to anyone with experience in the area to see if a guy could go down blind and do a spot and stalk in that area or would it be better to turn the tag in and save points for another day?

I have that same tag this year. I drew it as an alternate. I've usually been able to find bears down there in the past. Some years it's easier to find them than others. Everyone I've talked to is seeing lots of bear this year. If it were me and it is, I'd take the tag and enjoy the hunt.

True everyone is saying they are seeing bears.
Few nice ones have been spotted up on Shay.

I'm in the same boat but with the La Sal Mountain spot and stalk. Never hunted the mountain and never had a bear tag. Good luck to all 3 of us I guess!
