I check the radar two or three times daily and it looks like the north-northwest portion of the Gila has been getting slammed. Whether or not the radar is actually producing accurate information, that's another story.

I have about 6-8 different bears on camera this year. They seem to like water. Also, two years ago I ran into 4 bears just hiking around on my elk hunt. Got 60yrds from one who had no idea I was there, however I didn't have a bear tag. Gila is bear country.

I recently picked up a rem700LR which is a couple hundred less than the sendero. Comes with the heavy barrel and the bell and Carlson m-40 stock. Something you may want to look into. Mine is a 7mm rem mag, and I love that thing.

I understand that for sure! I drew Gila units the last two years and was unsuccessful on both hunts. I kind of have the mentality that nothing is getting in my way this year. Hence the thread!
