Private property is pretty tuff to get on in those units. Outfitters lease up the majority of it, and the rest is Southern Ute reservation. I've hunted the unit several times, there is some decent public ground, but thats where the majority of the hunters are. There is a big ranch, I believe...

To me, the biggest factor is the reset of the season dates. There is alot of people that wait for that. Thats the main reason I burned my points last year, on a better unit, that there would have been no way in hell to draw this year.

I have nightforce, swarovski, vortex and leupold, I will for sure check out the new swaro, mainly because it is the best hunting glass you can buy! But from the bench my NF nxs is fantastic!And plenty of moa to shoot to a mile!!!!

A shot is too long if you second guess yourself while deciding if you can make the shot a fatal one! Just my 2 cents !

Good you seen some deer, what units were you in?

I have one on my hunting gun set at about 2 1/4 pounds, and one on my long range gun, set at about 1 1/2 pounds, love the trigger. I installed both myself, pretty easy!

Congrats on the gun! But you may be surprised how much kick that gun will have! I had one in my younger years in a straight .270. Hope I am wrong! Let us know.

I shoot alot, a 7mm rem mag, with 180 berger bullets, 2820 fps, my barrel life should be great! High speed will cut barrel life down considerably.

I had a 700 22.250 do that after sitting in storage for quite some time, I pulled it apart and sprayed the action and trigger assembly down with carb cleaner, then blew it off good with an air blower and lightly lubed it. hasnt happened again, mine would go off when i pushed the saftey forward.

Benefit of the doubt? I think many here have already convicted him!!!! Let the game and fish handle it, other than you enjoy bringing it up every week!! An investigation like this could take years to prove and convict!

fyi Malad area 73 is a unlimited controlled hunt, Not a general. You have to draw the tag.
