Thank you, all. All the information that has been provided has definitely made the hunt more promising. We've seen a couple mature bucks but haven't been able to seal the deal. Over all if the tag isn't filled it's all good. It's been a fun experience.

Thanks for the information, it is much appreciated. I forgot to mention he has only one lung due to cancer so his hiking abilities are pretty limited, though he gives it hell.

Update: Moved south of Antimony yesterday and it's looking promising.

Yup! Kid shot it and claimed it was a wasatch front buck. He took it to a taxidermist and he recognized the frito buck and turned him in. The buck was pretty popular with the depot folks from what I hear.

Man! that buck has been in every state. Last year it was on the Vernon unit. Wonder what state next year?

AGREED! something has to be done about the deer herd. Some of the best genetics in the state as far as I am concerned....but with no deer, the genetics do no good.

Thanks everyone for the congrats :) makes it even better. I am a Mule Deer fanatic but there is no drought that this was one of my best hunts. Didn't even get one flat tire....AMAZING!

Hunted hard for 5 days only hearing elk and not seeing elk. The best part of this hunt was my 13 year old boy watching the whole thing unfold with a very well placed shot with a 308 180 grain slug (I know, I know, lots of people say its to small of a caliber for elk but he dropped in his tracks)...
