Brian... not really sure, we are open... just want to get out and camp and roam around a little and have a fun hunt. The last time we bought leftover licenses and got permission for a trespass fee in 2010, I think we were in 23 or 16, I would have to check for sure at home!
Anyone know where you can still get a hold of a list of landowners in areas with leftover tags that are willing to allow hunters for a trespass fee?? Called fish and game office and they do not send out anymore!? We had a list from 3 or 4 years ago, but my buddy who had the list lost...
Last fall there was a post about someone who made some really cool Euro table top display stands out of Cedar and I meant to try to get a couple and sent the pictures to a couple buddies, now they want a couple too, but I can't remember any of the info and the link that I attached to the e-mail...
My brother and I are getting ready to head out for our oryx hunt(Rhodes) on the 27th & 28th of Feb, we are pumped and like kids in a candy store right now!! In general what kind of weather can we expect? I know there are hundreds of variables, but would appreciate any input!
Thanks
I would second the recommendation for going with Heidi Gutfrucht, my brother and I just returned from a hunt with her and everything was great, -- honest, hard working, good equipment, good people etc. 1st class all the way!
If price really isn't the issue (as long as my wife dosen't find out) which tripod would you buy, a outdoorsman medium w/the pistol grip head or a slik 713 with some other head or would the outdoorsmans pistol grip head work with the slik. I am making a last second purchase before my sheep hunt...
My brother and I went on a hunt with Jed 3 years ago. He runs a first class operation and some real good deer were shot in camp. He is a straight shooter!!! I would highly recommend him!!
Some friends of mine have booked a caribou hunt for us this fall in the NWT, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the outfitter we are going with. The name of the outfitter is True North Safaris and we will be hunting out of the Mackay Lake Lodge. Any info would be appreciated...
thanks for the responses fellas, i bit the bullet and ordered a christensen arms .300 ultra, i can't believe how stressful something fun like buying a new gun can be. now i am just excited as heck to get it and have fun, definately the gun of a lifetime.
littlebuck,
i might not have been clear, the recoil from the .300 win mag wasn't bad at all, just loud as heck, nothing a little ear protection can't cure, and when i am hunting, don't really care how loud it is
have a question for everyone out there i am seriously considering purchasing a new custom rifle and am having a terrible time deciding on what to get. i have seen the recent posts about the ultimate deer rifle, but have narrowed it down a bit more. I have decided on either a .300WSM or a .300...
