That is a very good tag, especially with those dates..you will see good bucks..it’s never easy to find a 180 plus but you are in one of those units where it’s a real possibility. Like AZguy said..I’d kill for that tag.

I hunted that 4th season a couple years ago. They hadn't moved down for the most part .Shot a young 27 inch buck on the second to last day at 10,500 ft. after a little snow storm the night before ..I think he was heading down when I bumped into him. It was a tough hunt, but you never know what...

I helped a buddy of mine on the 3rd season 3 or 4 years ago..It was warm.. Scouted for 3 days.. only saw a handful of bucks..biggest was a 24 inch 3by3..opening day in the evening we were driving on a heavily pined Jeep road and we got lucky a caught a huge bodied buck crossing the road heading...

Using better optics and modern weapons is to prevent less wounded animals.which is a good thing...you can't compare that to using radios. It's apples and oranges.
