What do you expect for XX points?

And to answer Founder's question about what makes a unit worthy of more points, I used to think it was less hunting pressure and a higher chance of seeing and hopefully bagging a more mature animal. Antler score in my opinion is overrated. It's like someone asking how cute your girlfriend is...

What do you expect for XX points?

So I burned 17 points this year on the Book Cliffs Multi Season tag for deer mostly to just get out of the "points game" in Utah. I'm 71 years old and could see that unless I had a leprechaun in my pocket for luck that I would never catch up to the point creep that is happening on better LE...

    Pinedale

Was up there yesterday. Little windy. Not too bad though. Saw a few good bucks. Nothing really impressive yet, but only spent a few hours looking. Lots of 24 to 26" 4x4's and a few smaller and a few a little bigger.

    AZ bans trailcams?

Language used like that MR. Catfish is not super "f***ing cool". That language alone tells me you're too ignorant to even use decent language on a public website.

    AZ bans trailcams?

Just saw a pic and posting of a stud buck killed on the Wasatch extended archery that the guy had 31 trail cams he and others in his "crew" had set up for the entire summer and fall to follow this buck. Pretty sad in my opinion. What happened to the good ole days where you had to actually...

    WY 128, here we go.

Simply awesome. The story leading up to the final day/kill was suspenseful to say the least. Made me feel like I was in the back seat watching it all unfold. Time well spent and congrats on a stud buck.

    Need a statistician here...

I've had an 80% to supposedly 100% chance (according to GoHunt) to draw Premium LE deer tags in the past and I'm still waiting for that to happen.....

How many points for G & H this year?

Even though the genetics are there, it'll eventually end up just like other units that "used to be" and point creep will continue until there are fewer and fewer great bucks.

How many points for G & H this year?

All thanks to those (Founder & YouTube) who post so many of his/their buck pics on this website and others. Doesn't take long for the pics and videos to spread. Many have high hopes of killing that "big" buck.

3 Sons, 3 Bucks - 2019 Hunting Adventures and Video

    How To Save Hunting

+1 I can relate. I am 70 years old which obviously makes me a "baby boomer". I started tagging along with my Dad before I was able to buy a license at age 12. I could hardly wait to get my first rifle at age 16 and start hunting. Been at it ever since. I have 2 sons and 2 grandsons who...

    Long Rifles and Hunt Expo

Fullthrottle, I fully agree with your opinion. The long range accuracy with these rifles will be the downfall of mature trophy size bucks. And even much more than the guides who park on a mature buck for their clients. It's only a matter of time.

    Montana legislators say no

Many of you touched a real sensitive area that I want to chime in on as far as "fair chase" is concerned and that is the firearms and scopes that are available nowadays that allow animals to be taken at 600, 700 and even over 1000 yards. That is Ludacris to say the least and someday a person...

    Death In A Bottle:Pics/Tutorial

I grew up eating venison this way and I'm 69+ years old. Beaver Deer Unit

I agree. We saw many hunters just shooting at anything that moved with antlers. Also witnessed a deluge of ATV's/UTV's all over the mountain that were not hunters, just leftover's from the ATV jamboree in Richfield/Marysvale area. Beaver mountain is getting overrun with these machines....good...

    Between the three

Actually Zion does have potential for some really large deer and the private land issue may or may not be a problem. Pine Valley also has potential to produce some really large deer and more so than Beaver. The Boulder unit is very large and if you scout it enough you can also turn up a slug or...
