Anyone been in the area? Looks like it'll be a rough couple days with the rain moving in. Hoping the roads hold together.

Roads were gettin pretty tore up when we pulled out last night. Bulls were screaming all day yesterday though.

Roads are getting muddy. Forest service is going around warning everyone about the pending flood. We just left. Bulls were on fire! I took a 330" bull last Friday.

Just posted from NMDGF:

Heads up hunters! Expect to get wet; try not to get stuck.
Hunters going afield this week can expect extremely wet weather and possibly hazardous road conditions as the remnants of Hurricane Odile move into the state. Hunters in southern New Mexico should be most vigilant and prepared, as some areas are expected to receive five inches of rain or more.
? Stay informed: Keep abreast of the latest weather reports, road conditions and possible closures due to flooding.
? Keep in touch: Be sure friends and loved ones know where you are going and when you plan to return. Keep cell phones well-charged.
? Gear up: Don?t forget rain gear, waterproof fire starters, shovels, heavy-duty jacks, winches or come-alongs, first-aid kits, flashlights, extra blankets, extra food and water, and other gear that might get you out of a jam should you get stranded or stuck in the mud.
? Stay safe: Never attempt to cross flooded roads.

Appreciate the info. Looking to go in on Bursum off 12 just south of horse springs.

Don't go that way. The road is trashed at Ghost lake right before Collins Park. Good chance of getting stuck that way. Try Apache Creek instead.

Just around Ghost lake plus or minus a mile. I would go through Apache Creek, that is if the road doesn't wash out. The draw south of the continental divide wasn't even running this afternoon when we left so I imagine that road is fine unless they get a ton of rain. It dumped rain all yesterday and it rained every day except last Friday. Good luck. The bulls were screaming.
