Here is a link to the seasons. Looks like they'll still have the early rifle bull hunts in 072, 131, & 162. The late rifle hunt in 194, 196 is there. And for NR there is a season for the early rifle bull hunt in 16 again.

I just took a quick look at the elk hunts. Looks like they want to kill off a lot of cows this year?
And the future bulls.
Im sitting on 12 points, I hope I draw before Nevada follows utahs elk program...

ducksbucksandbulls, I don't think NV will follow Utah's elk managemant. NDOW proposed not to have any rifle rut hunts except in 091 and thats because you can hunt in Utah. I was surpized when I saw there was the rut rifle hunts when the seasons came out. Good luck in the draw.

There are areas that have expanding elk herds, and they need to be kept in the set caps. The only way to keep the herds in check is to hunt some cows. I don't agree with how the commission went against so many recommendations from the county boards and NDOW. I fell sorry for the people who will actually apply and draw the bull muzzle loader tags.

They are afraid that too many big bulls will be killed, but yet they kept the regular rifle hunts in the rut??? Didn't make much sense to me at all.

I agree it's too bad the commission didn't take the recommendations, as there were some great opportunities for non-resident desert sheep areas.

The positive is there are a substaintial amount of new elk areas open to us non-ressies! Any opinions on where to apply with 18 elk points?

If you have 18 elk points the only one that i would apply for would be the 161-164 rut rifle hunt. if you have the money hire a guide and you will have the chance to harvest a 370+ bull no problem.

Either of the Jarbridge muzzy rut hunts will be outstanding too. Maybe not 370+ but a heiia lot a fun.

Will stay away from the 161 early. The hype will have 2000+ huntin fools applying here.
