21, CWD area?

OK, think I just realized that 21 is a CWD area? is that correct?

if so, are there any requirement that I need to know? Special instructions etc.. ?

Look on the regulation brochure........one of the main reasons there are very few big bucks in NW Colorado is that the Division of Wildlife has pointed at them as being the spreader of CWD. True or not but the seasons are structured to decrease their numbers....unfortunately it has worked in that regard.

Thanks LB oh yea you can bet I will read the regs when I get them. But I really do like conversing with you guys too.

So, if we shoot one, do we need to take it somewhere to be examined? if so, where?

It varies what to do per unit. It is explained in the brochure. In some it is mandatory and I believe it is free at CDO locations. In others it is optional and there is a small fee ($25 ?). In #21 it probably will be in Meeker to get examined.

I got off my a$$ and looked it up: Go to CDOW which is the Colorado Division of Wildlife site. There go to big game, then to regulations & what's new for 21. Unit 21 is not a mandatory testing unit but you can for $25 have your animal tested. GOOD LUCK on your hunt.....shoot straight and often..ha...sounds kinda like voting but hopefully the results are better !
