Topgun relax dude, everything is ok, and my comments are very generalized and not directed to any one person specifically. I'm just trying to understand what is the difference between having friends and family help on a tag and this guy hiring a guide. Maybe he doesnt have a bunch of friends that hunt. Maybe his dad didnt take him hunting like yours and mine did when we were young. I could maybe a bunch of scenarios that could lead to a fellow hunter hiring a guide. If i ever get lucky enough to go to alaska some day, you can bet i will hire a guide. Then when i post the pics everyone can jump me with their jealousy for the awesome animals i would harvest cause i hired a guide. WHEN DOES THE MADNESS STOP WITH REGARDS TO JEALOUSY , AND WHO DEFINES WHO HUNTED HARDER OR WHO HAD IT EASIER THAN THE NEXT. Top gun, if i won the super raffle tag and called friends of mine that happen to be outfitters and they were willing to help on the hunt for free, but would have normally charged 20,000 to someone else, would i be subject to jealous rants like this dude is receiving. Remember they are only friends in my scenario and no money would be exchanged. Just a couple of friends hunting together???? Also i dont see where the guy that killed this bull came on and said that he was now super man because he killed a big bull. I dont see any self proclaimed arrogance from the hunter in any way shape or form, do you, and if so please bring it to my attention so i can change my mind on the jealousy thing. I am thankful that they harvested this bull, and the dude was nice enough to share the pics with me and all of us. I am jealous though that i didnt win the supper raffle tag, and have my own chance at a bull like this 440, with friends and family watching from afar from every glassing point for miles while i silently poked a hole in the bull with my trusty hoyt. Then i would cherish the moment as friends filtered in from afar to see the slain beast AS HE LAY ON THE GROUND and we would all celebrate at the accomplishment THAT WE WERE ALL JUST A PART OF. Hunting has been a group effort for forever, and that group effort could be anything from guys coming back from an all day hunt by themselves, and cooking a meal together, all the way to 4 friends deciding to help one guy on a morning glass for a specific buck. To each his own.
