Anyone have any reports of the deer in 66a. I hunt unit 39 annually, but winterkill seemed to decimate deer numbers this fall. How's the situation in the eastern part of the state.

Just as bad, if not worse on the eastern side. The deer got hammered last winter. Some areas on the eastern side had close to 0% fawn survival so it will be several years before it improves. If you already know 39 and live close by I wouldn't waste the gas and time trying the eastern side of the state for a few years.

Scouted it this year and saw very very few deer. Some bucks but not many. Ran into some guys from Utah in 76 that hunted the opener in 66A and saw a total of 7 deer in 3 days of glassing.

yep. its bad. and to make it worse the morons still let doe hunts go on and let residents buy the second tag at NR prices to whack what few mature bucks are still around. its gonna be bad for a few years.

Yea what's up with the 100 doe tags in 55? Why kill what's left to raise fawns, absolutely ludicrous

we hunted unit 46 this fall and it was dismal. very few deer and even fewer bucks. couldnt find a mature buck the entire hunt.
