Backcountry Hunters and Anglers survey

Actually feeding can be very effective.

Although deer that have already been starved past a certain point do not respond well to feeding.

Wyoming guys were likely to far behind the ball to start feeding, if so not feeding
might have been a cost effective call at the time.
 
I Feed a few every Year!

I Haven't seen a Deer Die from it yet!

And As soon as it comes to Money maybe being spent to try & Save some of them the Organizations start making BS Excuses!

BHA is not concerned about the animals themselves. They are only concerned about having a place to hike and camp...oops I mean hunt. In years to come.

Just so I understand. Now BHA is the devil because they didn't roll out to your place and feed deer? A land protection and access advocacy group didn't feed deer? My guess, because you said you're doing so on yours dime, is a ton of folks didn't either?

I guess TRCP are bastards.
Obviously NRA are too.
Trout Unlimited?
Pheasants forever?
Was full curl there?
DU?

Its funny how such a small org has become so influential(or not in this case).

They are responsible for wolves, even though they weren't an org at the time.

They single handed stop grizzly hunting.

They are responsible for bad winter in Idaho. And the response to it, including all the decades of research on deer feeding.

When you step back and look, that's a pretty impressive amount of power they have

I'm gonna Clarify a little!

My Posts weren't Aimed at Just BHA!

To Tell You the Truth I Have No idea whether BHA gets involved with Feeding or not?

My Posts are Aimed More at BuzzH who believes just about everything He Reads!

To My Knowledge I Haven't Tipped a Deer over yet by Feeding them!

They Eat the same Feed year around rather it be green & Standing or in the Bale Form!

I Will continue Feeding as I Please!

The Part that Really gets Me in all their Studies that Claim they can only Eat Browse!

True for the Most Part when they can get it I Guess!

But they survive on other Feed as Well!

Mine was for hawkbill.

As for Buzz, I don't know him personally, but I have family who do, and like it or not, he's knows his chit.

It is expensive. When MDF was feeding up here I sent them money realizing that. But I'm not sure what the outcome was. I think guts get into "they would have all died otherwise", which is true, but I doubt many were tracked after they left feeding in spring to see if they made it.

But none of that has anything to do with BHA. Hawkbill decided that since they didn't show up on his farm, he should pile on I guess. Most likely he wouldn't allow all the flat brims and Subarus on his place anyway.

I just laugh at all the power BHA has according to the nay sayers.

Our last bad winter when those guys where bulldozing into garden city area to feed. They started feeding up south fork too I believe that year. MDF set up a go fund me, my business contributed, then I contributed. The feeding I knew the research on, but I know how expensive equipment is, Dontvwant those boys to get bit for trying.

Blurred Hoss- first of all I don't own a farm, second of all it's a no brainer when deer herds are standing in the middle of highways with 6? of snow all around. I don't expect bha to come to the rescue or any other group, but in an area of a lot of young bha members, none showed up to help.You can say what you want Hoss, I just don't see the hunting ethics I learned when I was a young man in these young people today.

Good Gawd. Now the Millenial generation is BHA fault?

Ethics? Wonder who raised all these kids? BHA wasn't around when they were learning, seems like maybe your "ethics" thoughts should be aimed elsewhere?

Last. College kids like bars and beer? What's next, they like seeing each other neked too?

There are some legit things to hit BHA with. Grizz is on them about openness. I'm on them about showing up where the fight is. Others are concerned Tawney mouths off too much.

But bad winters, winter kill, and millenialism are a bit of a stretch.

But then again, wolves get blamed in them, even though that was a couple decades before their formation.
