Beaver Bulls

I'm hoping to draw a Beaver LE elk muzzy tag in the next couple of years. I thought I would do some scouting this year and buy a spike tag just in-case the opportunity presented itself. I'm wondering where the elk are the first week of October? Are they up on top still or have they moved down at all? I've seen some while deer hunting, but haven't spent much time at higher elevations and haven't seen any bruisers. I'm hoping they will still be rutting a little bit at that time.
